The 2008 edition of the Monginis Quiz for schools & colleges kicks off this week. Now in its third year, the quiz was started in 2005 as a Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative of Monginis, and has grown from strength to strength since then. Here are the details of the quiz:
Schedule:
Regional rounds: (All quizzes at 3 pm)
Margao: 14th November, Mahila Nutan High School.
Vasco: 15th November, St. Andrew's Church Hall.
Ponda: 17th November, St. Anne's Church Hall.
Mapusa: 18th November, Dnyanprasarak High School.
Panaji: 19th November, Don Bosco School Hall.
Grand finale: 26th November, Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji at 4 pm.
Format: The quiz will be conducted in two tracks - School & College. 5 regional finals are to be held in the towns of Margao, Vasco, Ponda, Mapusa & Panaji. One school team and one college team from each regional final will qualify for the grand finale to be held in Panaji. Each town-level quiz consists of a 25-question written preliminary, from which the 4 top teams in each track will battle it out in the on-stage quiz.

Eligibility: For the school track, students upto Std.X are allowed to participate in teams of two. Team members may be from different classes but must be from the same school.
For the college track, students from Std.XI uptil post-graduation can enter in teams of two, again representing the same institution. Multiple teams from a single institution are allowed.
Prizes: Big prizes in cash & kind for both the regional round winners and the state-level winners.
